What are Porcelain Veneers?
Porcelain veneers can completely cover the flaws and imperfections at the front of your smile. If your front teeth are stained, discolored, chipped, cracked or otherwise uneven, you might want to consider veneers. Though light, veneers are durable and can last for about a decade before replacement is needed. They are made for each individual patient so that they look completely realistic and natural.
Why are Porcelain Veneers needed?
You might want to have veneers placed because you’re getting married or are going to be attending an important event and want to look your best. Your front teeth might be slightly flawed and you want to simply cover them up. You might have issues with discolorations, stains, gaps, spaces or cracking. Regardless of the issues you have, veneers can successfully cover them up to reveal a healthy, bright and white smile that improves your overall appearance.
Who is a candidate for Porcelain Veneers?
Most patients who either need or want veneers can safely have them placed. Veneers are best for patients who have otherwise healthy teeth. If your front teeth are severely damaged or decayed, we’ll recommend other treatments in place of veneers. If you have older veneers, we can remove and then replace them in our office at your own convenience.
What happens during the Porcelain Veneer procedure?
The first step is to file down the front teeth slightly to make room for the new veneers. We then take impressions of your teeth and use these molds to make the porcelain veneers that are just for you. You will come in for a second appointment so that we can place each veneer individually. We will then reveal a healthy and bright smile that you will love showing off. You can care for your new veneers as you would your natural teeth, by brushing them twice a day and carefully flossing around them.
If you think you might benefit from porcelain veneers, call our office today so that we can get you in for a convenient consultation appointment.
