Teeth Whitening

What is Teeth Whitening?

Whitening is a great way to improve the look of your smile and remove years of stains and discoloration. We offer both home kits as well as in-office whitening to meet your goals and needs. Whitening is safe and we monitor your results carefully while undergoing treatment. The majority of our patients who need or want whitening can safely have it done.

Why would Teeth Whitening be needed?

There are a few reasons for why you might benefit from teeth whitening. For one, you might be a smoker, coffee drinker or you’re taking certain medications that cause your teeth to look yellow and dull. Likewise, you might be getting married or attending a special event and you want to look your best. Professional whitening can erase years of discoloration in a short period of time safely and effectively.

Who is a candidate for Teeth Whitening?

Most patients who either want or need whitening can benefit from this treatment. Your teeth should be otherwise healthy enough to undergo whitening. We will examine them before suggesting any type of whitening treatment. This cosmetic option is best for adults and is not often suitable for children or teens.

What happens during the Teeth Whitening process?

We offer two different types of whitening in our office. Our in-office whitening can be done in as little as one hour. This process involves applying a thin layer of whitening gel to your teeth and then activating this gel with a bright light placed over the smile. Our home kits are designed to allow you to whiten in the comfort of your own home. We make custom trays using impressions of your teeth and then provide you with whitening gel to use inside of these trays. You get to keep the trays at home so that you are able to utilize them for future use.
